EXCEPTIONAL QUALITY

A dental implant is a permanent tooth replacement that is placed in the jaw through surgery. Each implant consists of three parts:

  1. A post- the base for dental implants
  2. An abutment- the connecting piece
  3. A crown or prosthesis- the permanent, new tooth

Dental implants can restore one tooth or many teeth. The implants can support a permanent single tooth crown, a multi-tooth bridge, or even a full permanent denture.

During the initial surgery, the implant is placed into the bone/empty tooth socket beneath the gums. If necessary, a bone graft and membrane will be placed either eight weeks prior or on the day of surgery to aid in the retention of the implant.

The next step takes place after the implant sites have healed. This typically takes between three to four months. The second procedure involves attaching your permanent replacement tooth to your implant. The dentist will customize your new crowns to fit your smile. Once the crowns have been placed, the implant process is complete, and you can enjoy all the benefits of your new tooth.
